Scott
Scott took up running as a means to recover from a surgery back in 2003. After finishing his first 5K in October of that year, he was hooked on running. With continued training, Scott worked his way up through longer distance races, running his first half marathon in 2007.
Always looking for the next challenge, the next logical progression was a triathlon. In 2008, Scott began to compete in local Sprint and Olympic distance triathlons. In 2010, Scott has completed his first marathon and his first off road triathlon.
Scott is an RRCA Certified Coach, a member of the Progressive Racing team based in Tampa and the Suncoast Striders running club in New Port Richey.
Scott’s motivation for opening a running retail store is to put his passion for the sport to work supporting local runners, fitness minded individuals and active kids. He also strives to support and further develop the running community in Pasco County.
Scott loves training and racing and is thankful for all the great friends and acquaintances he has made through running and triathlon. He enjoys giving back to the sport through volunteering at races. When not swimming, biking or running, Scott enjoys spending time with his family and supporting his daughter's horse riding.
Kathy
Running for Kathy began as a means of stress relief from her day job. Between working full time, and raising her daughter, leading a Brownie troop and volunterring for Junior Achievement, there was little time for working out. She also has to coordinate around Scott's runs, so she started running at night. Referred to as the " vampire runner", she can frequently be seen running thru her neighborhood streets in the cover of darkness.
She has run several 5Ks and did her first half marathon last November. While obviously everyone wants to run a faster race, the time out with just her head phones and the pavement provides the best motivation to keep running. She loves the combination of mental boost and getting in a good cardio work out as well as being able to do races with her friends.
Kathy and Tracey have been friends for close to 10 years now and their passion for running has added to their friendship and provided the catalyst for starting Suncoast Running.
Tracey
Tracey started running in August 2007, with the hope of just completing a 5K. Since following the “Couch Potato to 5K Program” over 4 years ago, she has run numerous 5Ks and 10Ks, a couple of 15Ks and several half marathons, and a marathon. She completed her first duathlon in 2009, and just completed her first triathlon after learning how to swim!
In September 2009, she became an RRCA (Road Runners Club of America) Certified Coach. Needless to say, she loves running and has most recently enjoyed running the Croom Trails. She will be running the Marine Corp Marathon this fall. She is an active member of the Suncoast Striders running group, waking up earlier than she ever thought possible as a self-proclaimed night owl. When Tracey isn’t out running, she is spending time with her family, her husband, Paul, and their two kids.

Ben
Hoping to make the soccer team as freshman in high school, Ben went out for the cross country team as a means to get in shape. He quickly found that he was better at running then he was soccer. Ben made two apperances in the Florida state meet while at Brandon High School and he went on to compete in college at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC.
For the past two years Ben has been involved in coaching other runners to reach their full potential. He was the first cross country coach in school history at Strawberry Crest High when the school opened in 2009. This past spring he was an assistant at Florida State Univeristy and Ben is currently an assistant at USF.
